Aura Margolin is an emerging young artist with a unique sensibility. Due to her disabilities, Aura experiences the world through a lens of vibrant colour and tactility, and has a strong ability to sense people’s energy beyond the spoken word.
Aura’s prolific artistic practice is a direct recollection of the world she vividly sees and hears around her. Using digital painting as her predominant medium, Aura’s body of work captures the ever-changing formations of sky, clouds, and sun as well as the sea, where she regularly meditates, facing the water.
Her large-scale prints are bold in form, joyous in colour and each piece communicates a unique emotional state, likened to the lyrical compositions of the classical music and 80’s hits she often listens to as she creates.
In recent times, Aura’s work has been acquired by the Department of Health and Human Services as part of their branding suite, and by local art collectors. In addition to digital painting, Aura enjoys baking and working with plasticine.
